Odilon de oliveira:The most protected Brazilian judge

Odilon de Oliveira is a former magistrate and political Brazilian who was affiliated with the Democratic Labor Party (PDT) and is currently non - party  He was a federal judge from 1987 to 2017.


 He became internationally known for his role in combating organized crime, especially in the border region between Brazil and Paraguay, has arrested hundreds of drug traffickers, and disrupted dozens of criminal organizations. For this reason, he was the target of numerous death threats and began to live under the heavy escort of 10 federal police officers 24 hours a day.


He was the holder of the only court specialized in financial crimes and money laundering in Mato Grosso do Sul, the 3rd Federal Court of Campo Grande, until October 2017, when he asked for retirement due to contribution time to run for political office. Even after his retirement, he needs to have full-time armed police escorts, due to the enormous volume of threats suffered during the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime, as determined by the National Council of Justice .


He has received several national and international awards and honors, including the Golden Tears award from the International Justice Forum in 2008, given to magistrates and justice operators who have lost their lives or are threatened with losing it because of their work in combat organized crime, terrorism, and drug trafficking. The fourth edition of the event was held in Campo Grande (MS) and had the participation of 37 countries
